Hi,
Am in the process of selling my 01 td5 ES (97k miles) as I have just picked up a very low mileage facelift td5 ES (39k miles). However, the stereo in the older disco was the Harman/Kardon unit and I thought that, based on the same head unit and number of speakers, the newer one was the same but it appears to be the 'premium' unit, not the Harman/Kardon set up. While there is a noticeable difference in the sound quality, one option on the head unit - Spatial - is not on the newer one.

Now, as I still have both discos for another while, can anyone confirm that the head units are the same, I know the speakers are different (Harman/Kardon versus Philips), but also, can the under seat amps be swapped between the two.

I know these are fairly detailed questions and am lucky to be in the situation, but would love to hear answers.

Have a good evening

Apologies, over here in Ireland we are brought up on referring to any 4x4 in generic terms as jeeps. Will edit the post

Can anyone advise whether I can swap the amp and possibly speakers in the 'Premium' set up in the newer disco for the Karman Kardon amp / speakers in the slightly older one, will there be much improvement? Is the wiring in place for the subs in the back door?

Anyone?
