Hey all,

After some insight?

I was driving my wife's D2 and just accelerating of a roundabout and clunk!

The front prop shaft snapped off at the transfer box UJ. I now have no drive at all. Struggling to find out why, but I believe this is usual!

What I need to know is if I put a new shaft on, will it simply work as normal? Is there a way of checkin the box is no knackered?

Cheers,

B

its normal you wont have drive unless you lock center diff .which you might not be able to on a d2,just fit a new shaft

Cheers JM!

It is a non diff lock D2, sadly. I have shaft already on the way.

Does it need anything else doing to let it all run after the new one is on?

as in your signature your's was made in 2000 so almost sure the diff-lock mechanism is there, reach above the front inner top side of the transfer box and if you feel it lock it with a 10 spanner(about quarter turn clocwise) it's shown with arrow in the attachment... then you can drive it without front shaft

Hi,

I have seen this on the internet elsewhere. Problem is, it has had a replacement transfer box 6 years ago, so may not have it. I will take a look though.

I guess I will have to remember to put it back though..... :p
