Hi all,

My remote and central locking are working fine (except rear luggage door not locking).

If I press the lock button on the remote, all doors (except rear) lock and the lights flash once only with no sound. The little LED indicator in the centre of the dash doesn't flash or light up.

If I then open the rear cargo door, the alarm doesn't go off, and if I manually open the drivers door with the key, it doesn't go off either.

Do you think the alarm is not arming properly because the rear door is not locking?

Thanks.

no, it should partially arm and work on the other doors... as you describe it your alarm doesnt work at all, or it's set to the simplest variant as it's possible to make several settings for it, even to be silent, to disarm it with key and without LED activity

dont confuse the central locking with the alarm/immobiliser, the fact that the boot door's lock motor doesnt work doesnt mean that the door switch doesnt work cos that's what' important for the alarm

leave the driver's window open, lock it then reach in with your hand and open the door, hop in and try to start it....if it will start then the alarm is completely disabled.... a tester would be of great help anyway.

Ok, so with the car locked & window down, I reached in and opened the door and...... Nothing!

Then the car started fine. So the alarm is completely disabled?

I checked with an ODB2 reader and there are no codes at all.

Anything else I can check without a diagnostic?

Thanks.

D2 isn't OBDII compliant, you won't get any codes with your reader.
Time for Mr Hawkeye or Mr Nanocom Evo or one of the other ones.

your alarm is completely disabled then... can't do anything more, you need proper D2 dedicated tester(T4/nanocom/hawkeye/lynx/autologic/etc) to enable the alarm in the BCU...probably there's some misslock issue too with that door and the alarm was disabled to hide the fault

Ok thanks, I'll head back to the garage where I programmed the key fob I got a while back. They have an autologic which they use mainly for bmw's, but it has the land rover 'package' with it also.

They really have no idea where to look for anything through the menus with regard to land rover on the autologic.

I'll have another dig around to see what I can find, then pay their bill for the pleasure :)

the place is Security - BCU - Alarm (programming)...or something like this, the BCU is important cos there are the alarm settings.... beside activation set it for "Always disarm with key" and write in your own EKA with smaller digits to be easyer to insert(use numbers between 1 and 5)

see settings attached, choose the most suitable for your needs
