my cylinder head is mark with the numerals Y2 adjacent to the center head bolt opposit the carb.

cylinder head number is dupoint 525183

can anyone help identify which head this is 8:1 or 7:1

The only way I know to tell for sure is by looking at the centre head bolt next to the carb.

If it is through a raised flat higher than the other head bolt holes it'll be stamped with a 7 or an 8 denoting the ratio.

If it hasn't got the raised flat it's an early 7:1

You could look at the spark plugs and hope the last owner didn't guess
