Hi all,basically I bought a disco
2 commercial a couple of weeks ago,I'm not used to land rovers one bit,but it's occurred a cutting out problem when driving along,it just saps power,judders,then stops,then it's a right pain to start again!my friend is brilliant with land rovers and have put new bits on,egpump,wire harness,regulator,injector seals,but still no better?we are coming to our wits end with it as I probably been mugged off by the seller as he said it has never let him down???can any body offer of us any advice?thanks
 
Rather than throw money blindly at the problem, have you had any diagnostics done to the vehicle?
 
Check the earth tag that lurks under the expansion tank ...
In fact check all earths for clean good contact and also have a look at the little wire that goes to the stop solenoid, it can become brittle and weaken ...

you sure bout that,tdi has a stop solenoid,the td5 does not,as far as i recall.Engine stops via the ecu.
