My high pressure fuel pump sprung a leak recently. After some searching on this forum and YouTube, I found out a special tool was needed (part number 12-178 I believe).
The parts didn't look too complicated so I decided to make it myself.
I eyeballed most of the dimensions but as for the threads I borrowed a gear sprocket from a seized engine to get the thread size.
For anyone who might be interested in making their own. The outside sleeve thread is M40x1.5 and the inside sleeve thread is M30x1.5

Nice bit of engineering, but as they cost about £25 to buy, it wouldn't be worth my time making one.

Wow how did you get the diamond grip pattern on the two pieces, i presume the main internal bolt does not have the ball bearing inserted into the end as the one below which if i remember right cost me £19.99 back in 2019

Knurled both parts before cutting them off from the bar stock. And no the main bolt doesn't have a ball bearing in the end. I just ground it down to a point.
I replaced the pump with the one from our doner vehicle 😅 thankfully it's still working
