Do'er of stuff and the like
Any well to do members in cumbria on a farm or such maybe after letting me put a caravan on there and live in it mon - fri?

fair money involved, as I appreciate how much it is for a choofin caravan pitch (robbing stewards!)

nearer to whitehaven the better but not really too fussed.

yeah, new contract aint it ;)

back to sillyfield again! still I cant complain. Better that than be on the dole!

Mergh you get more radiation down in cornwall! At the moment our house is one mile from Dounreay. I was stood on top of one of the reactors and I didnt get a single count. Gutting!

I managed to get one measely microsievert once though!

Basically they are about to make several hundred contracting staff up here at Dounreay redundant as they have massively overspent and are delaying projects in order to spread out the costing. What they dont actually explain to the rest of the world is how much more this will cost in the lifecycle of the project... in the tune of hundreds of millions of pounds. Wasted. They will announce the redunancies at the end of the tax year. Rather than sit around in a flooded market of engineers which will bring the rates down I was proactive and got meself a job last week. I was well chuffed. Withing 5 hours of contacting an agency, interview and job secured. Sweet.

Whoever said contracting is to risky is bonkers!

We are still keeping the scottish highlands as our "home" though. I will be commuting down on a monday and back on a friday night. I cant stand it down south anymore and neither can the mrs. Its too busy down there.

She actually went down to stoke on trent yesterday and today some fooker crashed into her as my mrs sat still at a roundabout waiting to go. Apparently the "crashee" never saw her!... well she never saw the fookin tow bar on the back of my mrs car that practically destroyed the front her car either the dumb bint.

anyway! Still loving the highlands, weathers great!

no, latest epd system on the market.

Just in a heavily shielded environment so environmental background rad is ... well just not present!

I do know about lots of things that are occuring though that really shouldnt. As a "neighbour" i think i should go to the council with my "concerns" ;)

Still like a sample of soil and wood ash as my kit easily registered 14bq kg wood ash in tens of gram sample cs137 on gamma spectroscopy

Also zero count is bollocks as naturally occurring isotopes and cosmic radiation

thank you very much :) hope so, the guy doing the interview sounded was pretty chilled out. I like that. People I have been working with here have a stick up their arse thinking they are something special. whats that about.

Hows life "down south?" as crap as it looks on the news?

ell those with a stick up their arse need it replacing with a barbed wire rope,i live near manchester so i am warm and dry,but those poor sods in kernow and the home counties are having a bad time.

Super Kamiokande

i do know what cosmis rays are and that they pass through pretty much everything blah blah blah..im teasing you!

to put it in another perspective though....

its raining outside ok? so you go inside.. and the choofin sprinklers come on... the difference? Feck all as you still get wet.

If there is effectively zero radiation being emitted from the remaining reactor core components past the shielding then am I bothered? NOPE.

why on earth do you want a soil and tree sample anyway (I know to what analysis to do on them) but i mean... why?

Chernobyl contamination binds to clay, but reanimation with burning wood or disturbing soil
