right ive just brought a range rover p38, and im having trouble with the cruise control, when im driving, i press the cruise control button to set it and it doesnt seem to work, is there anything i can look for to find out what the problem is, anyone got any ideas? any help would be ace thanks andy.

the P38 I had kept splitting the vacum pipe , look for splits from throttle control to the actual cruise control unit , or it may be the unit that is kaput. think all models have the same unit , they are not cheap from LR.

its norm for the pipe to split look n/s front inner wing you will see the pipe its near the back of the wing, i hope that helps you. it runs down to the back of your bulkhead drivers side..

Hi
Have you depressed the button with the motorway sign on it is on the centre console by the air suspension level buttons! ??
Regards
Dave

Presuming you have pressed the CC switch on the centre console, the most common problem/cause is the elbow at the "T" piece next to the bellows just behind the EAS box. the elbow splits where it goes onto the "T" or the pipe which runs across the bulkhead from the brake pedal switch to the "T" splits.
You may get away by just cutting the split end off and re-making. It's not unknown for the small nylon "T" piece to crack. Replacements are available from motor factors or believe it or not, aquatic suppliers !! The hose size is 6mm. i.d. and vacuum tubing should be used. The preformed elbow is available from the main dealer or from one of the "Bling" type suppliers on Egay...do a search for "6mm vacuum hose" or "Silicone vacuum hose".
If the hoses look okay, there is a step by step troubleshooting guide on RAVE,
