Went to get in my 90 tonight and noticed I had a flat tyre.
Proceeded to change the wheel, using the supplied jack in the rear crossmember, and halfway through heard a kind of crunchy sound accompanied a bit of forward motion. The jack was now leaning forwards rather than the nice vertical it had started at and I had to resort to desperate measures to replace the wheel before the whole thing fell into the ground like a dead camel!
I am now looking at a nicely torn and buckled crossmember, around the jacking hole area.
Is there any repair that can be carried out or is it more realistic to get a new replacement?
Any ideas how much this might cost to have done? I havent welded since I was sixteen and I just dont have the time to do it myself any more.
One things for sure, when its better again, I wont use that jack again. I have always thought they seemed a bit dodgey and unstable. Might see if I can build that Cider press with it instead...

you should always use diff lock and engage a gear when you lift the rear end and the handbrake becomes effectiveless without it!
 
Halfords have an offer on a 2.25ton 4x4 High Lift trolley jack for about £34. I got one last year and it does the job and gets good ratings.
Chock the wheels as well as diff lock etc.... heavy fookers if they land on you.
If your making cider with the other jack.... we do partake:)
