Hi there, first of all I'm an intruder and actually have an RRC but those chaps in the Range Rover section of the forum are all about the P38 and L322 so I would appreciate some help from you disco boys if possible (as the RRC is basically a Disco eh)?

My car has a creaking noise from I think the rear of the car when I drive over a bump or off a curb, plus when I drive away and when the car is in drive but my foot is on the brake (its a 1990 auto 3.9). It sounds like the sort of creak you get when your just letting the brake off on a hill but it seemsto be associated with the suspension riding up and down. It doesn't do it when I rock it on the flat. It got worse recently when the car went upon a 4 poster lift. I am guessing the suspension sat sagging for an hour and this upset something even more and now it creaks A LOT! The weird bit is it does it in drive when the car is stopped!

It's fully polybushed but they are a good few years old now. Its got a boge unit which I know the disco didnt have. I'm suspecting its either the polybushes or the balljoint on the a-frame maybe? Does anyone have any experience of simialr noises and perhaps how I can diagnose where its coming from?

Any help on this would be awesome, its driving me crazy and no amount of oil sprayed over all moving bits of the suspension have eased it.
cheers
Al
