Hello To all :)

I fairly crap question from a noob, I have had my 300 tdi for a couple of days & have done 150 miles. The oil warning light started to flicker on & off today & I wondered if going up & down a steep hill could make this come on? I have checked the oil level & it is above low but not by much. I wasnt expecting to be topping up the oil after 150 miles to be honest, or is this the norm really?
I cant see any signs of leakage either.

so was it full when you bought it? the warning light will come on going up/down gradients if your levels are low... i suggest you top it up with the same weight oil ASAP and keep checking it before long trips also make sure your only check your oil levels when the car is cold and on level ground.

hope this helps

it could just be the oil pressure switch that is dicky, bring it round ter yella's workshop and we will have one fitted in an instant ;)

Hello

Thanks for the replies, checked the oil after letting engine cool down etc.
Seems to be in the required levels on the dipstick but I will keep my eye on it very closely.
Thanks for the help & advice :) ;)

gonna work from home to start with but looking to rent a unit locally if it takes off ;)
