I decided that today was the day to finally start tinkering. Very low key stuff to begin with. I I said before whil I was driving my Landy home there seemed to be a blocked jet at about 500 miles. Well when I went to remove the sediment bowl I can't believe that she managed a 650 mile run. It clearly hasn't been off for some time. Once I freed the screw and eventually got the bowl off the fluid inside can only be described as thin mud:( . I poured the petrol out and the bowl had a good 3 - 5mm of thick brown (rust?) crud at the bottom. Can't believe it didn't cause a major problem :) .

Other jobs completed today: Rectified mixture (was running way to rich) and idle speed (was idling far to quickly) and cleaned out air filter hilst renewing oil in oil bath (I'd forgotten how nice a job that is).

The good news is that it is snowing here (even got her in 4x4 today) and we're off for a weeks holls tomorrow in the Landy.

Happy new year to you all, all the best

Dave
