I have been recommissioning a 3 bearing 2 1/4 petrol engine only to find the main bearing shells are shot. While in bits I looked at the thrust washers. 3 questions I have are
1, Which way round are the thrust washers supposed to be?
2, One of the washers has +5 on it, is this the .005 that is on Paddock's web site? and
3, How much endfloat should there be and where do you measure it?
Cheers.

soft metal side to crank steel to bearing cap
+5 is plus 5 thou
between 2-6 thou, you can use feelers between the washers and crank or a dial gauge on the end of crank
