Afternoon,

looking for some help regards my 3.5 v8 on carbs. Was looking over it early making up a list of parts for mot and came across what I believe is the cover-heat transfer assembly, After looking though my workshop Manuel and parts number catalog.

Now I’ve never seen one as this is my first v8, what is the reason for it? And also I need some pipe work for it as it looks like it should meet up to the air I take? I’ve taken a picture of it but can’t seem to upload anything for some reason.

Cheers for the reply’s about the photos. Ignore the miss matches colours that’s on the to do list once I’ve started to do the complete restoration I’ve got planned

I think that is just the cold start device, ie when shes on choke the flap moves so the car gets warm air from over the ex manifolds to stop the carb freezing.

That's the 'pulse air system' an early emissions control device.
The plumbing system on each head connects to a couple of larger rubber hoses, which lead into each end of the air filter canister. There should also be a non return valve or two in there
Don't know of you can get parts anymore; most people strip away the pipes and box and blank off the holes in the head.

Ahhh ok I was looking and trying to work out what purpose it served as when I put my hand over the exhaust manifold end it felt like nothing was coming out. Might just re plum it in as I found it.
