1, Just to the left of the heater blower switch there is a light, what is it for?? As it flashed at me once tonight....

2, Is it poss, practical even, to fit 750 x 16 tyres to a series 3 SWB diesel, I know I will lose out acceleration (Ho bloody ho) but should gain on top end speed, speedo will also be out, is it worth doing really is the question..She is running on 205 x 16 at the mo, so the rims would have to be changed to LWB ones if its a good idea..

the light is for the COSTALOT, the computerised onboard service technology and landrover or tblackbox.

its telling you to report to the main dealer asap, with your CC.

750 x 16's (radials) are on my sons S2 88" diesel, gearing is upped by 10% which is no bad thing on a run as it now plods along on the Motorway reading 55 but is doing 60 and is not wandering that much!!!! He has not noticed any difference in the acceleration over his 600 x 16's, just overall better gearing and a slightly better ride with having more of a cushion with a bigger sidewall. Tyre pressures are at 28psi all round which seems to work best. Barry

I changed to 7.50x16 on my S3 88" from 205R16 no problems whatsoever. Speedo is 12% out. My 7.50's came on LWB rims already but I think they will go on SWB rims which are 1/2" narrower, but it is worth seeking out some LWB rims. The 750's fill the arch's much better as they are about 2" taller which means you get an inch more ground clearance with no modifications. Haven't noticed any difference in acceleration apart from off road in low first when you go down hills 12% faster. Don't forget the Series rims need tubes but the later 90/110 ones don't as they are welded. Tyre pressure should be 25psi all round.
