ask him for proof of ownership. If he's scrapping it he'll have the V5. Might be worth a link on the Landywatch forum In case someone on there has lost one recently.

If you check out the guys other items there's thousands of pounds of newish gear, the address given is a council house and not the location of the items for sale.

He's got at least one complete landy in bits for sale, either a Landy breaker or ???

Yep, What he says. If I remember rightly it was on for about £5500 to start with
As for the damage on the door, Id say it's nothing to do with prising the door open, Every one knows you can operate the locks with a bent spoon

looks really dodgy but i reckon he is a breaker with a scruffy yard.

If you look at the disco 4 door picture he has loads of windscreens with protective wrapping round them and few other bits that look like a breakers yard. But that defender looks seriously dodgy especially with that pry bar mark but he could have got it as a stolen and recovered? V5 needs to be shown before anyone buys that

eBay must be the most traceable website on the planet, my guess is it was stolen recovered , not wanted by the owner and scrapped by the insurance company

You'd have to be pretty stupid to sell stolen goods as a business on eBay

What planet are you on. Plod doesn't give a **** what gets sold on ebay as is clear by the huge number of V5's and tax exempt defenders for sale. Ebay doesn't give a **** and simply sends a computer generated reply to anyone who reports an item as stolen, advising you to contact your local Plod.

Ebay is the UK's and probably the worlds biggest fencing operation to be Offacially sanctioned.
