200 TDI, rebuit 10k ago, all wax-oiled. Young lad owns it off to uni.

Worth the round trip to see it?

check the wax-oyl isn't just covering up rust - make sure you take a large screwdriver and bash hard.

looks good to me. agree with arming urself with a screwdriver, get through the waxoyl and see if theres any rust issues!
undoubtably ur get some on here sayin thats expensive, but its all relative.
get it for 3k and ur good to go

The chassis should "RING" when hit with a hammer (or screwdriver handle!) and not "THUD" dull-ly

Even my 3 year old knows that...we were drivin along today singing the little song we came up with... (beats the hell out ofthe stereo!)

Landrovers are really fun
There's one out there for everyone
You will get your thrills and spills
but the red ones they don't go up hills

When you're 3 this is great fun, but in your thirties it does get a bit repetitive on a half hour journey!

I saw the landy, great guy and really nice condition but a fair bit of rust around front vents and on the bulkhead just under the bonnet. Drove brilliant thought. Was tempted but decided I can look at a few more!

i test drove a red one with a slightly uptuned 3.5 V8, that went up hills. Very well.

Yer mebbe did'nt pour the mix evenly into the pan. This could be the cause of this problem.
