Hi all I’ve done a few threads previously on td5 power and I’m doing another just to ensure everything is working correctly before a remap.
Before hand I had poor power issues low down my disco would die on hills if it was screaming on the way up. New genuine maf, cleaned map sensor, fully serviced, silicone hoses, wastegate is free and fully closes and opens, no oil in the injector harness, And runs smoothly.
However replacing the centre silencer with a straight through pipe has really helped low down. Before on hills it used to die on in third and need second for it fly’s up in third gear. But my car is still struggling above 60mph there’s not much go at all I’m not expecting it to Be able to change the rotation of the earth but at 60mph on the flat in fifth it takes another 10-15 seconds to then see 70mph and anything more than 70 just seems unlikely. Now the car has always been like this but this morning when I started it at 1•C the fuel pump was making one hell of a whine, so I’m wondering if My fuel pump has always been a little poorly. I can rev the car to the red line at idle at can easily reach 4000rpm all the way up to and including 3rd gear. 4th gear seems like it would but I been on a fast enough road today to test it. So could the fuel pump be on its way out or are all the td5’s fairly flat once at the National speed limit?
