Hey guys
I am looking for my first car and found this land rover series 3

Landrover Series III Godolphin Cross - TR13

I was wondering if this was doable project for someone who has limited tools, limited knowledge and a limited budget of £620 the land rover is £400 (could probably haggle them down to £350) that leaves me with around £200-£250 to restore it. from what i can tell it needs a new bulkhead, some new front dumb irons, and a door. i also have a lot of free time lol

You will never do it for that money, but if the chassis is repairable and you get it for not much brass, then you will never lose money on it. Buy it, and just do bits as and when funds allow;);)

Of course you can do it .. it won't be a full-on nut and bolt resto, but you could probably, with time and effort, get it running reasonably. Keeping it running will be the wallet-opener .. ;)

Seriously .. it depends. Too many variables so any answer might be correct ...

If the chassis is knackered your looking at 1800quid for a new new one. It's on my shopping list for my series 3.

Do it up to be a runner...a full resto costs and takes ages

oi come on not fair

i rebuilt mine within 9 months with a budget of £200 and a hell of a lot of graft n skill

if youve got the enthusiasm and guts to try it then go for it ........you might surprise yerself

I reckon its well doable wont be a full restoration it will be driveable and fairly tidy don't worry to much the expensive times come when running it and driving it but get it through a mot and do bits and bobs to it as you go with the few quid you have to spare
