ohh, next time I visit a daughters place, I think a visit to an old haunt may be in order.
Thurrock Lakeside ;)

cheers meego

i just paid £18 for 20 :(

Where abouts are you? There's a Costco outside Edinburgh & one in Springburn in Glasgow. £30 for a years membership but well worth it. I know its not always within easy travelling distance of some folks, and the issue I have is, what I save on VO I spend tenfold on other stuff.

I've just gone from fuel light to brimmed tank for £51.96.

Thanks for the heads up, Meego. :tea:

No probs mate. Can't not pass on good news like that. Its dropped in price every time I've gone in lately so here's hoping it goes down even more.

err, cant do costcos now..
but trying a local bookers.
bit dearer but wont cost £30 in fuel getting to costco and back..

works out cheaper if I look at it that way...

Hi - fairly new to the forum and picked up on this. If you cant get a Makro membership that is free, but they can be sticky about actually getting membership. I will try and check the price next time I'm in.

So to the more important question - you just pop it in your tank and off you go? Only certain vehicles? any issues I should be aware of ?

I got a 200 disco diesel, runs just fine on its 206000 miles on the clock.
but do mix it 50/50 though..
will run 75/25 at times but for me its just not worth it..

usually buy it out of tescos with its 10litres for £8 deal,
then just tip it in the tank in there car park with shoppers looking and thinking - WTF...lol

even one of there security staff mentioned to a fellow staff member "oh hes got more oil for his old landrover" as I walked past..
going to tescos gives me something to do at times - fresh french sticks are better still warm...just as the french buy them..

Yeah, Petrol vehicles run **** on it!!:D

on the other hand, i put £20 of unleaded in my diesel by mistake some months ago..
topped up with £20 of derv, plus lots of litres of veggie...

still ran just fine then........

still runs fine now..................

itsa landrover after all, none of this later mixed marriages rubbish with transit engines and odd number cylinders....behaving like petulent teenagers in a tantrum..

You would have to be up bloody early to get a warm French stick in a French bakers. They are fresh though.

memories of days out of dover to calais to "ocoean"?? & mamouth hypermarkets come flooding back....
mid 90`s it was.....
was fun then.. something out of the ordinary plus crates of crappy st. omer beer..
we was youropians for a day...

I am not a mechanic so excuse my stupidity but will a 300 tdi run on veg oil I have heard it will as it has a bosch pump:confused:

Simple answer is yes. 50/50 mix with derv is advisable though. I wait till my tank is quite low, tip in my 20ltrs veggy, then down to Tesco and brim the tank. Normally just over £30 worth of derv. So its under £50 to fill up, approx.:D
