Right thought I would start this off this is for the p38

EAS overhaul new bags compressor and block overhaul £500
New track rods drag link swivel ball joints £500
New shocks £200
Becm ohaul £400
Fuse box and battery leads £150
New front door locks £300
RF receiver £180
New rad and hoses etc £250
Radio repair £100
Blend motors £150

Total £2730

Looks scary but its not a lot to put a motor like these back together I have assumed that all the mechanical failures you would have no matter what you were driving and of course not all of the above go wrong with every car
 
Depends what time span that is all over! If that's all in the last 6 months then ouch(!), if the last 2 years then not too bad...

Over the time I've owned it (4 months?), my Classic stands me at:
Welding boot floor up: £200 (labour)
Replacing blowing exhaust manifold gasket (real PITA!): £200 (parts + labour)
Replacing fuel pump: £50 (new pump, fitted myself)
3x new or nearly new tyres: £150

Have probably spent a further £200 on parts and servicing and on things I've done/fitted myself - coolant flush + change, oil + filter change, K&N replacement air filter, diff guards front and rear, JATE rings on the front, headunit + adaptor leads, tailgate decals, etc etc. Exhaust backbox is rusting through but other than that not much left to do...for now!

Future plans: buy and fit a steering guard and a snorkel...and that's about it! Want to keep it as standard looking as possible whilst making it as capable offroad as possible too! :) Of course, the biggest expense by far is fuel...£80 a fill now, and that does me about 200 miles!! :(
 
ffs list would be tooooooo long, had it two years did heads twice in first 8 weeks. engine was foooked bought a short block built engine paid somebody to fit it, [as it was snowing] and to bloody cold odds and sods [ie leather seats, bumpers coded] total cost about £2800. not to bad as i got it cheep to start with.. ffs hope oh dont see this..
 
Viscous-Coupling £325ish. Heads on petrol engines and FIP on diesels. Air-pump, you can re-con `em but the electrics eventually wear out. In-tank fuel pump.
 
in last 6 weeks: gearlever snapped off, £125, lowered gearbox and new pin fitted, then fuel pump re-timed, £120, then clutch pins went...£1.56 for 2 new pins, bought valeo clutch kit £195, plus £330 to fit....changed oil and filter £35. Took off side steps to address rust, £20 for red oxide plus black paint...Second hand tuning chip £175 and thats all i can remember offhand, oh and 4 brand new 19" kumho's on range rover sport alloys £300. a real bargain, tyres alone are 150 each....Just fitted psi chip and its a bit of a disapointment to be honest, still got to thrash the bollocks off it to get it going, but you dont have to change gear as much...Ahh landrovers!

Heater matrix “O” rings need doing and one blend motor now failed, possible A/C leak to find and fix as well. Have new elements for heated seats to fit; only now since bypassing the O/C cushion elements I’ve burnt out the Drivers side squab one too.

Obviously this could have been done much cheaper and some things just left as they were. Only that’s not how I work. I’ve done nearly 20,000 miles now in my 4.6 and I don’t have LPG.

DHSE year 2000 November, in 23 months 18K miles, airbags, aircon condensor, window regulator, engine oil cooler & pipes and a height sensor. All work done by myself, total cost about £500. Plus of course routine servicing. Not bad I reckon, shame the gearbox failed a couple of weeks ago. Not looking forward to swapping that with the one from my spares dog.
Forgot the new drag link I just fitted, cost me nowt, came with the car.

Just got my DHSE and looks like I need to spend some money on it. In fairness I knew I would but not too much. Previous owner bought it for £6400 and spend over 1200 on it last year including new front airbags, new tyres all round and various other bits and pieces like servicing and oil seals. I am about to replace the rear airbags and get it serviced and see where we go from there. Just hope I have enough left to get it remapped!

Had mine 1 year to the day. Done 16,000 miles since. So far I have replaced the following:-

Radiator Hose - £35.00
Plugs -£25

All labour was provided FOC by yours truely but all in all less than £500 for the year. Nothing compared to the £5500 spent of fuel....

I have had mine since 98 (almost new when i got it) had just 12k on the clock i wouldn't like to think just how much i have put in to it since all i know is a lot of ££££ i just kinda take the la.la approach (im not listing) or put it another way..... i knew what i know now, i wouldn't have bought it lol
 
I will of had mine for a year in two weeks time and the list so far is:

Air con re-build and re-fill £250

Diesel Bob power chip (I know it's not a repair but it is essential if you want to get anywhere the same day!!!) £250 ish

New back tire £100

Four Arnott Gen II air bags £400 (fitted)

EAS pump re-build £100

Set of glow plugs £95

And now the radiator has split so this job is pending as she's sitting on the drive in a puddle until I can afford to get her sorted, I'm guessing this will set me back about £300 by the time I've finished.

So that's about £1400 give or take in the first year which is a bit of a kick in the happy sacks but they are all bits that would've all been original parts. Everything wears out in the end...

Lets hope this year works out as more miles and less money.... (Fat chance with the fuel prices!!!!!:()
 
You guys really know how to make a bloke look forward to owning one!! I know its going to cost me to run it but this makes depressing reading!!
