Hi all,
does anyone run cooper st,s on there defender. i,m thinking of getting them in a 255/85r16 and would like to know if they are any good.I have an 02 90 td5 ,any feedback appreciated.

I have the STT's on my Defender, which is a slightly more aggressive tread. The ST is 40% Road Biased, 60% off, whereas the STT's are 20/80. The ride suffers a bit and there is a little extra noise (not too bad though) and as the ST's are less off-road orientated the tyre drone should be even less. In LRO a month or two ago, someone took a Defender to the Arctic Tundra on ST's.

I'm running 265/70/R17

I have ST/C on one car, and STT on another one. I'm using both cars in the same conditions: long distance on asphalt and bad trails, and off-road in the bush.

STT are excellent off-road tyres, but have very poor durability. Won't buy them again.

ST/C are the best all-terrain I've had so far. Good in the bush, in mud, on road, not noisy, very good wear (a friend of mine has done 55,000k on his so far, half of it on untarred trails).

Never got a puncture in a ST/C offroad, even though there are serious thorns out there.

I'd say that if you want to actually use your vehicle on road but need good off-road capability, the ST/C are hard to beat.
