Hi Guys,

Found a pin hole leak in my cooling manifold pipework on my 99 TD5, the metal section from the thermostat to the pump. The pipework is item 26/27 on the Rave diagram for the cooling system, this is a manifold and comes as one piece. The pipe with the hole is the smaller bore section. My question is can i safely weld up the hole, i think there is enough good material to weld too. If not does any body have an old one knocking about that they would be prepared to sell.

Cheers,

Jez..

Well manifold welded up, hope fully never to be a problem again....what a bloody job that is trying to get it off and back on again. Water pump changed as well, oil and filters done...so should hopefully be me done laying on me back under the chuffing thing for a while. Just got to top up tomorrow then Disco good to go ..

Its well worth giving the coolant rail a coat of waxoyl or hammerite.

Cheers, good advice me thinks. Will probably be on the look out for a replacement just in case.
