Hi, new boy here.
I've just taken my Freelander (2000 XEi) to a local garage to have a power steering fluid loss problem sorted out. It was only a clip (hoorah!). I pointed out to the mechanic that the cooling fans kept coming on after a relatively small amount of time and stayed on until I switched the engine off.
Would anyone be so kind as to help this non mechanically-minded freelander owner. I'd be very grateful - before I throw a load of money at Land Rovers (again).

Thanks in advance.

will have to check this one out,but i believe the cooling fans are controlled by engine ecm, they do have a problem with the control box on the front of the fan cowling, this unit goes wrong and keeps fans running will have to check my brain out but will get back to you if im wrong

Had a similar problem on my 2001 1.8s, but also discovered a water loss, turned out to be the head gasket, hopefully you are not loosing any water ???
