Hi guys

on my 2.5TD there is a split in the metal pipe where the coolent runs into the heater unit.

Have tried plugging the hole with metal epoxy but hasn't held.

The main issue is that the hole is in a really awkward spot which i cannot see unless the heater was removed.

Does anyone have any suggestions? and is there anything to stop me just bypassing the heater?

Cheers

Nothing stopping you bypassing the heater as long as you are happy to run like that in this weather.
I take it you mean one of the pipes connected to the matrix has split (inlet or outlet, it doesn't matter as they are both part of the matrix)? A new matrix isn't expensive and easy enought to fit, just remove the heater, open the casing and replace the matrix. New seals etc will be required but it is a very simple task.

Yes the split is in one of these pipes and i do plan to replace the matrix in the near future but just to get me back on the road for tomorrow was the issue. There is an issue with the heater anyway.

Thanks for your help, thought it would be ok but wanted to check.
