Has anyone tried to repair the cracked 5/16" tube at the bottom of the coolant reservoir tank?
The crack is near the top, the tube still has good hold after removing the hose. I am using a two part epoxy and will know sometime tomorrow if the epoxy will hold during the short term. Replacing the tank would be an equally easy fix so I can first wait to see if the tank nipple is repairable.

What's more expensive, a new tank or a replacement for a cooked engine? Had a customer in the garage years ago tried to repair his expansion tank on his 3.0 top of the range Senator. The repair failed on the motorway and it cost him dearly. We rebuilt his engine then found his repair so we replaced the tank, at a cost of £13:rolleyes:

Epoxy doesn't really play well enough with plastic. Especially with fluctuating temperatures, flexing, expansion. Would not expect this to hold for more than a quick emergency fix.
More likely to work would be a soldering iron to weld the plastic back together, but will still be weakened.
