Morning chaps
My 110 td has a 200tdi Steve Parker conversion.
I have kind of broken the engine a bit and want to keep it running so an engine swap would be fastest way I think.
Problem is I don't trust engines on a pallet and 200's are harder to find and expensive.

Am I right in thinking that I can use a 300tdi, bolt it to my td bell housing and lt77 gearbox and get the bolt on mounts from Steve Parker and I would be good to go?

The 300 will go on the LT77 (ive done it) with some minor mods to bell housing but you will need new engine mounts welding to your chassis

Taking a chance on another 200 or rebuilding yours may be best

I fitted a 300 as i had a good one in an old disco but if i did it again i would go 200 ,steve parker now do both exhaust and engine mount kits but they would come to more than a full disco 200 tdi engine !

I can rebuild it but not sure what I have broken, thinking a conrod.
Just thought it might be easier to swap engine over so I can keep it running over winter and rebuild engine in my garage as oppose to in situ. I have a spare then

I can get 300's easy but 200's a bit harder. I can get a full 200 disco with 186k on clock for £400

Surely 200's would be coming from exactly the same place as a 300 would??? :(

It's possible, but will be a lot more work. I cannot see how the 300 would work out cheaper. In fact, I'd go as far to say as it would probably cost double or more when all said and done. And the end result would be no gain, same power, same noise, same mpg, same performance.

If you are going to the cost and hassle of another engine upgrade, then a Td5 swap or RV8 is probably a better thing to aim for.

If you go for another 200TDi you'll have lots of spares for future use from your existing engine, and it will be a straightforward swap. Anything else is going to a lot more difficult. Still plenty of Disco 200s on gumtree and fleabay.

Won't be any point saving a 200 as a spare when you have a 300 in cos ya need to weld engine mounts in different positions. U could bolt a 300 to a lt77 or you could get the 300 seat box and tunnel and drop in the whole lot so atleast it's a newer gearbox. I'm not 100% sure but I think that a disco box will go in with the top housing off the lt77 and a simple adapter you can buy. I believe that puts the gearstick back in the correct place
