I am considering buying overseas a new 2006 export spec Ninety TD5 that meets only Euro 2 regulations. Does anyone know what would be involved in converting the engine to meet this year's EU regs (Euro 3?? rather than 4??) if it becomes a personal import into the UK in 18 months time. I'm assuming if it can't be delivered and registered until 2007, it will be a complete no-no for Europe ever.

I think you will need to add an EGR valve, however, I am sure many people would be happy to give you an EGR valve so don't worry about that.

Not sure about the rest.

you need to check with the authorities about this. cause im sure that personal imports are immune from new regulations?

there used to be silly rules yrs ago. summat like having the car for 12 months minimum first, before you could bring it back to the UK.
