Hi Guys,

sorry to start a new thread for this but assumed it might hit with a few more people. See previous threads for trouble with selecting the H/l range. At present I have made it work with a paper clip in the connector for the neutral select switch. I have managed to change the switch but still have select neutral on the message centre. Therefore I want to put a multimeter on the switch to check it is being pressed. The only way I can do this is if I fit a connector to the switch with some wires so I can hook up the multimeter. Therefore would anyone have a connectorthat I could buy/borrow and attach a couple of wires to? it is on page 424 of the manual.

car is a manual 95 DT . The connector is a simple 2 pin affair.

thanks

I've had the same fault. It was the bit of plastic in the selector mechanism that operates the switch had broken up. I believe there is a way of getting the selector mechanism off the gearbox without actually dropping the gearbox out of the car. I wouldn't have a clue how to do that though, just seemed to remember seeing it on here somewhere.
I ended up just leaving the switch linked out and praying I didn't have a combination of pressing the wrong button and the speed sensor telling fibs. Probably better leading two wires into the car somewhere with a switch on the end.

Thanks Derek Ward,

Well another busy afternoon on the car and it now has a switch in the cubby box which simulates the neutral switch and I can now select H/L. Pleased but disappointed to have not done a proper job.
