Hi there!

Iv just swapped my Wire winch cable for a Synthetic Rope

I have a 12000lb Winchmax and iv just put a 10mm 28m 12000lb Winch rope on it. Below is the link to the one iv bought!

Synthetic Winch Rope 12000 lbs (5440 Kg) Hawse & Hook on eBay (end time 21-Oct-09 16:58:13 BST)

My question is how strong are they!

Compared to my old wire rope it doesnt feel as strong but thats proberly because iv never used one before!

What are your views to those of you who have experience with both?:)

well i bought the exact same rope for my warn 12000 winch and when i put it on i tought this will be crap!

the first time i used it i thought it was gonna snap as i winding in but i was not going anywhere but it was only settling it self in, now ive used it its mint, i pull vehicles out with it and it does me fine.
its real easy to use as it really light and it does not cotter up and they wind back in a treat, so no need to worry anymore :)hope that ease`s some concern

Thanks alot mate thats just what i needed to here!

It didnt give me much confidence when i opened the box and the rope looked like it could untwine, Ha.

Im looking forward to getting stuck again now so i can use it!

I wont miss cringing when i used to hear the wire rope snagging on the winch as it bunched up on the drum (You know the sound)

Cheers scott

ya i know the sound mate, well went to tong off road centre at weekend and used my winch more then once on very tough situations and it worked a treat!
