hey guys.... truck went to mot and failed on excessive hub movement so i replaced both top and bottom king pins/swivel pins and whilst down there noticed that my hockey stick was loose so i nipped it up. since then i am getting a horrible knocking clunking noise that i can only describe as if you had a piece of metal under load on a ledge/lip and it fell off the lip the noise is what i imagine would be the resulting clunk. it happens when turning a corner but not always. sometimes happens if i'm rolling backwards and put my brakes on hard and sometimes when braking forwards.

Thinking worn wheel bearings (but unusual to clunk) or CV joint but may be wrong

I'd take some more advice before rushing to dismantle

I've had knackered wheel bearings where it sounds like someone is hitting the chassis with a hammer when I've been moving off/stopping.

If by hockey stick you mean the radius arms, they don't just nip up (although I'm sure you can tighten the bolts if you try hard enough!), you'd need to replace the bushes. So that may be your problem.

About 130 ft lbs if I remember right :)
OPs problem could be a number of other things too. Bushes would have to be very bad to do that.
