I've just fitted a CommonRail sensor chip with the intention of improving fuel economy...
Well, it hasn't improved the economy but it has transformed the engine! Lots of low end torque so it doesn't stall during off-roading (a real problme for me moving from Discos to Freelander) and none of that 'death pause' when you pull out in traffic.
Hurrah! Everyone should get one. Got mine form Germany off Ebay, took 10 minutes to fit and the insurance company didn't load the premium.
One word of advice: make sure that the one you choose dosn't boost the rail or turbo pressures above the maxiumum tolerance limits.
