The cold start light on my series 3 land rover is staying on even though the choke is fully pushed in. can anyone give any advice on what the problem could be...

i think it may have some adjustment on the switch.;which is on the cable some wheres

I'm having a fairly similar sort of issue with my series three. Whenever I hit a bump driving, some part of the circuit for the cold start light grounds, so it lights up. It appears to have absolutely nothing to do with cold or starting.

However, when I was replacing the dash, and instruments, I didn't see any switch back there behind the firewall... and I spent a fair bit of time re-connecting absolutely everything. I could be wrong tho, I didn't tear into the harness proper.

Could you maybe describe this switch? Or where I could find it?

when you say choke i take it you've got a petrol injun. in which case the switch is located on the choke cable, in the engine compartment. not much point lookin at doosul diagrams

Whilst i'm sure your right slob, what about the pic on p 28 which shows a switch attached to the choke cable at the knob end?
Or have i picked the wrong model?

aye yer not wrong, but ah mean 68 pages of stuff to find a little piccy! and now i've seen the piccy i remember them ones as well now.. the other one i seen had the switch mounted on the cable inside the injun compartment and you could move it slightly on its fixing screws, so this one is probelly the same.
