So, discovered that one lead was actually faulty. Seems somewhere along the line it has parted company from the metal part that clips onto the tip of the spark plug so has simply been jumping from the core to the metal part. This isn't a great scenario so it has likely broken down slowly over time judging by the black mess from arcing.
Anyhoo, today I decided to kill several birds and strip the inlet to get the rocker gaskets changed (stop the leak), move the coil pack, check where the cooling pipes are dripping (LPG vapouriser joints) and see if the LPG pipework needs changing or is it still serviceable?
Anyway, Moved the coils, undid the loom tape to undo the wires to the coils and cut/soldered the white wire which I assume is an earth, taped up and mounted coil packs onto passenger side airbag bracket.
Checked LPG pipes and they look fine. No cracking or chafing.
Can't undo the rocker bolts as they are multi hex and all my sockets are single hex (less chance of slippage & rounding). So tomorrow I'll mostly by buying one solitary socket
Last job will be undoing the cooling pipes, slapping some Tiger Seal onto the metal sleeves that the rubber hoses are joined with and sticking them back together. They drip, which although not dangerous, it is aggravating and messy so I want it dealt with.
Anyway, I looked on here for photo's of a coil pack re-site, but couldn't find it! Any idea's? Was it even on here?
Ta.
