right i have just replaced my engine, and whilst i had the lot out i put on a new clutch. this new clutch seems to drag when i have my foot on the pedal making it difficult to select gears.. it does make a nice crunch going into reverse which it never usted to.

what do you think the problem could be?

i dont really want to take out the engine again and put the old clutch back on.??

cheers

I'm assuming you have been working on a 2A ?
If so the clutch release bits is not auto adjusting on a 2a.(It is on series 3 I think)
So you will have to get under and adjust it by hand, it's a 10min job.

well you see it, has a series 3 box in it!

what i think it is, is that the clutch plate isnt slipping up and down the shaft propperly?

will the gearbox bugger if i keep using it with the clutch in this way?

before i chuck em in the skip - no-one is interested in any Series 3 flywheels and clutches - 2nd hand, covered in surface rust?
