Hi everybody :)

First of all, i m sorry if i post something that is already explain on the forum.
I looked for clutch slave cylinder and clutch master but i didn't find the answers... Also as my english is not so good, maybe i don t understand the details of the conversation i read.

So... I already posted on the forum my aventure changing the clutch. o_O

Changing the clutch we saw that the clutch slave cylinder was broken and change it.
I went to Landrover shop and i wanted to buy also the clutch master cylinder but the seller told me: "Look, this is expensive, change the clutch and the slave cylinder and if you can not change the gear, change then the master cylinder". He also told me that there are two part of the system "independant" i can change one and then the other one.

I follow what he said me and after fixing the new clutch and the new slave cylinder we start the Freelander and we could change the gear. The clutch pedal was already soft/floppy (like i had to push the clutch pedal until the end end to change gear. As it was the first time i drive a car with hydraulic system and it worked i went back home and i could change the gear properly...

200 km after this, it s now difficult to change to gear. I have to "pump" one, two, sometimes three times to change the gear properly. More we drive, more difficult it is to change the gear. I m afraid that one day i will be blocked without the posibility of enter a gear and have to stay were i am.

So i have some question:

1 - Does it exist a way to fill the hydraulic system on that engine? (it seems to have a purge system but seems to be useless reading the forums)?
1.1 I read there is a way (that people tried - Like enter DOT4 form the end and pushing it to the top) but it worked only for two weeks. If i try something on that hydraulic system, then i will have to change the slave cylinder again right - everythin is already pressurized? For this i still didn t open nothing before to ask.

2 - Is it possible that we burn the new slave cylinder using the 4x4? It is possible it s already done, because if the master cylinder was brocken (from the beginning) then the slave cylinder doesn t work good so forced it so butterfly effect?

3 - If i change for a new master cylinder, is it possible it work nice? I don t want to change the master cylinder and then break the slave cylinder if the pression is not nice inside. I mean this hydraulic system is for change all of the component each time, or it s possible to fix a problem changing part. If not i buy directly the master and the slave and change it again... hahaha  i m not really enjoying this option.

4 - A cheap internet page to buy the master cylinder? i don t know if i can ask this on the forum, sorry if the question is not welcomed. I live in spain...

Thank you very much for all your help, it save me a lot of time from a mecanical depression!!

Have a nice day
Mateo

Hello hello

After perfectionning my english mecanic vocabulary i read a lot of information on the forum. I ended bleeding the system mecanicaly (i mean two persons, one with the pedal, the other with the "bleeding screw"... i know it s not the good world... and the pedal came hard again. :):):)
I was questionning to do it because of the pre bleed system the sell. i didn t want to break the slave cylinder.. i hope it will not matter.
I don t know if it will work a long time but for tomorrow it will help me a lot.
If someone has got some advice for me, i ll take it.
See you

mateo!
