 I'm a little confused. Maybe someone can help me??? I've only recently started driving my SIIA (Petrol) so have only recently learned how to double clutch. Third to second is no problem, then into first if I needed to set off from standing. Today however it doesn't like going into first or second gear when its not moving, it just grinds. I don't like this. Is it me, or is there something wrong?! (or both) :D

Patience is the key here maybe. If it doesn't go at first lift your foot off the clutch then depress it and try again. A lttle blip on the throtle may help.

I'll give it a shot, maybe I'm starting to get used to it and trying to speed something up that was just never meant to be?!

Even my SIII box can be a stuborn bast**d. Only when I'm in a hurry too. But I just think of how much the recon box will cost. Never mind how much time I'll have to spend changing it.

you have to remember that you just cant hurry a series. it aint built for any sort of fast road work.
take your time.

ls the clutch adjustable, l seem to remember something like this with mine years ago. Might be worth a look.

It is. At the mo. bite point is only just off the floor. Didn't feek right to me at first but I have nothing to compare it to. Also I noticed today a slow drip coming from the gear-box type area, would this be causing a problem?

sounds like the slave cylinder is leaking, this will cause you no end of trouble, get a new kit for it but beware of the "bastard clip" ( official terminology) as you struggle to get a new one.;)

no, the fluid in the brakes is seperate to the clutch, you should have 2 little pots under the bonnet(reservoirs). normally the smaller one is the clutch ;)

Oh, ok. wouldn't that cause problems to the brakes as well?
It should'nt do if you put a clamp on the clutch flexi pipe to stem the fluid. Best to fit a new clutch cylinder, better than feckin about chap.

Yella's quite right, you'll see a circular partition in yer resevoir.

Try putting it in third before you select first. It lines the box up and makes selection of the non synchro gears easier.

Cheers!
