Our W-reg 1.8 petrol (54,000 miles) has the same issue - particularly in hot weather or under load - hill starts with four people plus luggage are the worst - any ideas?Hi,
My 1.8 petrol has developed a bit of a judder in 1st and reverse gears. It doesn't happen all the time, but most to be honest. Changing gear is not an issue and there are no problems in other gears. Is this a full clutch replacement or could it be something else?
Have you tried this...Our W-reg 1.8 petrol (54,000 miles) has the same issue - particularly in hot weather or under load - hill starts with four people plus luggage are the worst - any ideas?
Need to lubricate (eg with few drops of engine oil) where the arm pivots as it goes through the bell housing.Try lubricating the clutch arm (front of engine, the slave cylinders piston pushes it). If it's not that, it could be the other two that freelance has stated. Otherwise it's going to be something more expensive as the clutch in the 1.8 is unfortunately not adjustable. Where is the bite on the pedal?
Pretty sure it isn't on the K Series, just a lump of iron.Is it a DMF on these cars? They can cause judder
