finished work today and got into the disco, selected reverse which i thought struggled to go in, but put it down to my laziness, reversed out of the bay and went to put it in first, couldn't get it in gear. switched of the engine, put it in first and drove home without a clutch. got home, lifted the bonnet and lo and behold, no clutch fluid in the reservoir. went down the garage(40'x10') got some clutch fluid and topped it up. shouted the significant other and asked give us a hand to bleed the clutch. righty ho she says, sitting in the drivers seat and adjusting it so she can reach(only4'7") i slack off the bleed nipple and say "press the clutch down", nothing comes out. i tighten the nipple and say"off", slack the nipple again and say"down" nothing again.tighten the nipple, say"off" suddenly out of the corner of my eye i see the throttle linkeage move. say to her "clutch not the throttle". oops sorry she says. "give me strength" i think quietly to myself.anyway, finally bleed the clutch and take it for a spin. everything is rosy. problem is what happenred to the original fluid. no leaks no fluid anywhere and now the clutch is fine. ;)

isnt the resovoir part of the brake resovoir, you could have a brake master cylinder leak into the brake servo, just a thought !!!

Well I am not going to insult you here I am sure you check everything, but I will throw in my shillings worth.

When you were down there you didn't notice if there was any leaking out the slave, all unions and joins seem OK, and it wasn't all down the pedal or on the floor was it? Seals in the masters seem to go a fair bit. I could half empty my cylinder after about 6miles of driving before I changed my master.

Going back to the thing about women helping in the garage, did you ask her to fill the clutch fluid, the last time it needed some? If so, check the coolant filler for clutch fluid and every other orifice for things thst dont belong there.:D

Seriously though, when did you last check it? Does er indoors always set off in third up hills? I.e, has it been burned away!

M

well first off, the significant other never drives it cos its"TOO BIG". secondly, when did i last check it, erm well erm its erm well erm sort of erm...... ok ok i admit it, i have never checked it in 3 years of ownership

Its too big? Is that what all the Welsh fillies say? Im up your end tomorrow (pardon the pun). Im looking at that place this week. Hope its not ****ing it down for the next 5 days.

It sounds like your mates sorted the place out anyway, so looking forward.

No internet for 4 weeks! I'll have to learn how to **** again or beg for twice a month,

later, M

hi yella if you can find no leaks at all,it has been known that over time the fluid can heat up and evaporate,i know it sounds like bull **** but its my only answer as this does screw up a lot of td5 slave cylinders as to close to exhaust.
