I was driving home the other day when i changed from 5th to 4th i found I was unable to change gear as if the clutch wasnt disengaging. I was able to drive home by matching the revs to the gears.
When i press the clutch pedal (which feels fine) the clutch only seems to disengage about halfway, i.e it slips the clutch but doesnt fully engage.
I changed the slave cylinder and bypassed the damper which didnt make it better.
I spoke to my local land rover breaker friend and he seems to think the pressure plate splines have become stretched or damaged.
I fitted a heavy duty clutch kit two years ago and im a bit amazed it has worn out already. I just wanted to check that it could be anything else.
Btw, pumping the clutch pedal makes no difference.
