I have a really old Landrover Discovery TDI 300 1994, M Reg. A few weeks ago she had a hairpin diesel leak on one of the diesel pipes in the engine which the garage fixed. She seemed to be fine for a couple of weeks but she then started what can only be described as chugging, almost like she was going to cut out. At first, it didn't happen very often but it has got worse to the point where it was really bad this morning and really felt like she was going to die.
She is bad when I accelerate, need more power going uphill etc. At about 25 mph she is okish.
Please help as I need to take her to the garage but I have had so much bad experience with them before I would at least like to have a few answers before I go so any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

Has the vehicle been thoroughly serviced, fuel and air filters changed, tappets set, etc.?
And what is the general condition of the rubber and plastic air and fuel pipes, and everything under the bonnet?

What you describe may not be related to the previous fuel leak. Was the pipe that was leaking a high pressure pipe leading to the injectors, or one of the low pressure pipes leading to the filter or fuel tank?

Pics might be useful in identifying the problem.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
Previous diesel leak was on one of high pressure pipes, but garage fixed it. Someone has suggested that maybe he got air in the system when he did this, could thid be the problem ??? She's actually overdue a service, could an old fuel or air filter be the problem ??
Thanks

Replacement of a high pressure fuel line will not be causing the problem you describe. Any air in it would be bled as soon as the vehicle restarted.

Yes, dirty filters could cause that problem, as could a collapsed intake hose, problems with the timing belt, and several other issues.
