My 110 V8 has an electric fuel pump mounted on the chassis as is the norm. It's so fecking noisy though, click, click, click, click, click, click, repeat...

Tell me this isn't normal and I just need a new pump??

It's doing my nut.

tis normal for the old facet pump , I am hoping somone on here will tell us we can fit a more modern one under the bonnet???????? as I have the same on my 72 RRC

Ha! don't be so sure, I've got an in-tank facet on my RRC that makes a sound akin to a slightly loose exhaust. The engine has never (yet) missed a beat but I'm now weighing up the cost of replacing the pump (unit £ + labour for dropping the tank etc) against a bloody annoying background noise when the engine is idling.

I cant hear mine when at idle as my exhaust is so loud lol , I think mine is in front of the back wheel , but i havent looked on this one I have just seen it on two others, I really must go and have a look lol

I think they are supposed to make the noise though.

There must be a nice low pressure lecky inline replacment available now surely???

Could put it under the bonnet!

Mmm, you would think so. I've got a lecky one somewhere off a VeeDub bus, maybe I'll try that.

its good yours has been reliable as I only ran my 72 up for the fist time last weekend and I was dubious about the facet pump idea!!
