I was woken in the night by a clicking noise. Followed the noise this morning and ended up in the garage under the rangey bonnet. The clicking was coming from the bbus (battery back up sounder). I have disconnected it and the noise has gone
My question is,why would it be clicking..on for a few minutes then off for a min or so. Can I just leave it disconnected or should I replace it. Having no alarm sounds doesn't concern me.

Internal battery has probably failed, the battery has an expected life of 10 years so they are all starting to fail. Mine has been disconnected for ages. Disconnection can throw a fault apparently, but it has not on mine.

On the Omegas they recommend taking the battery out as a couple caught fire just sitting on the shelf. Might be worth considering.

Take it apart, it's possible to fit a new battery if the electronics are not too corroded.

That's a good idea. Don't know what it is like inside but often they are like the R/C car batteries you can get from Maplin.

This faults gone on the back burner at the moment. Since my last post my air suspension has failed . It lasted almost a month bless it. I have ordered the software and lead, was hoping it may come today but no such luck. I have never used such witchcraft in the past...is it going to be a struggle to work out ? For a non mechanic.

Oh I dont know I just unlocked the eas..by the time I did that I had had enough lol...its worked fine all day today so will see how it goes for now...I shall not be coming up the driveway in wading mode no more lol

I didnt actually look at them , by the time I got my software downloaded, worked out my pathway then got the F1s and Fs working and clicked unlock my head was fried...
