Just about ready to fit these military lights once I get wiring finished.they have been painted over so do not look there best, sand paper is getting it off but will take bloody hours.
Anyone know a better / easier way to get them back to shiny

you can get scotch brite pads for bench grinder as well that might be a little less aggressive than wire wheel. Can also get them for angle grinder if you don't have a bench grinder.

Got a mate with a bench grinder and wheel gonna drop them off for him to polish up.

Are the lenses glass or plastic? If they are glass, I would use a chemical paint stripper. It will attack some plastics, so is not always suitable for plastics.

The metal can then be cleaned up with a fine abrasive. They look to be brass with a protective plating, which has now been rubbed off in places.

try painting them with a coat of brake fluid but mask the lenses if they are plastic and leave overnight

If it metal and glass then I would use paint stripper. It's not as good as it used to be but b&q do one that is OK but takes a while. Its their own brand Dial stuff.

They are plastic and looking at mine appear to be yellow anodised metal that has tarnished...they wouldnt be shiney for obvious reasons...
