but in vice securely wire up with jump leads ,short solenoid across ,should work if you want you can try and stall it with length of wood ,rough but it works
My local starter motor/ alternator specialist (they recon and supply motor factors) sold me a reconditioned one for £75.
Try your local, or you might be able to find one on ebay, maybe?
