hello peeps , iv,e just bought a 92 rangy classic, i,ve got a couple of questions for those who know 1 drivers seat doesn,t move is it motor or switches + how to solve it + 2 has anybody heard of peckspeed performance theres a sticker on the tailgate + a mate of mine reckons the rangy,s been tweaked up can any one help? cheers

Could be switches, relay, fuse, flexidrives - I`d start with the easiest and eliminate the possibilities one by one.
I`ve never heard of Peckspeed at all, it might just be a random sticker . A good independent should help you identify where if anywhere the engine has been modified - good to know for insurance declaration purposes.

Might sound daft, but do the mirrors move when you adjust the seats?
I assume it has the lil green reset with two position memory switches on the drivers seat?
Strongly suspect the seat ECU. Had this very problem in one of mine, found that the ECU (in the box under drivers seat) nicad battery had leaked. There was an ebay seller with replacements for sale...tho check first before buying a replacement battery, the circuit board on mine also required a replacement chip as the battery leak had damaged it and the surrounding board. Chip also available when I did mine a year or so ago.

I have also heard of people hard wiring in the switches to the motors....it saves going through an ECU if yours is beyond repair, but means you wont have the memory functions.

There's loads on this forum and internet if you do some searching.....its not an uncommon fault with the late classics unfortunately

good luck

If you find it's the motors let me know. got a full seats of seats here which you can have the lot from if you so desire. No switches, but everything else
