so the idea is the following: the driver heated seat does not work anymore. I thought about fitting a new element but I had an other idea... use a generic heated seat pad and use the factory seat to switch on. I though I could find a live wire going to the seats and connect that to a new cigarette lighter to which I would connect the heated seat pad. I dived under the seat but could not find the correct wire.

Anyone know if this would work (my concern is the temperature sensor/thermostat). If yes anyone know the colour of the wire?

THANKS AND HAPPY FESTIVE SEASON :)

And what's the problem, you said you want to connect a cigarette lighter socket to a live under the seat so use one of the brown/purple wires which are live, the white/brown is through the relay's contact not good,

Ahhh, sry i was slightly miss understood then. I wanted to use the factory heated seat switch to power the cigarette lighter

Then see in the pic i posted C969 (4 pin white connector) and use the pink wire(not pink/white) for live and black for earth

Slightly off topic but heated seat related. Why would mine have a passenger heated seat install but no relay on the drivers side
probably someone removed it? i hear reports that as they get older there is an increased chance of catching fire, since the heating elements are no longer safe.
