Just a bit of info for you if you haven't done this job before.

It took me 12 hours in total !!!

I have had the "chuffing" exhaust manifold noise for quite a while now and finally, I managed to get a pair of new manifolds for the right price.
What a pain of a job they are to change!
The left hand (passenger) side was fairly straight forward to do but did take a couple of hours to change.

The right hand (drivers) side was an absolute swine to do as there is far less wriggle room.

I ended up taking the front wheel off and removing the inner wheel arch.
Then had to remove the starter motor - again, not easy to access at all.
This gave me just enough wriggle room to get the old parts off and then replace with the new.

If you are going to attempt this one, allow lots of time.
 
Not done them on the RR, but I did the gaskets on the TVR !! 8 hours, had to take all vac and electric of the engine, undo the mounts, jack the car up 18 inches and the engine a further 12 inches. Bugger of a job.
 
not sure why you had todo all that i know the drivers side is a ball ake but i didnt do any of that when i did my hg and i hope you heat wrapped the manifolds and binned the heat sheilds

No heat wrapping, didn't know it was an alternative, the heat shields went back together just fine and they are in good condition too.
 
It took me longer to get my heat shield off than it did to pull my heads the lock nuts were seized and the bolt heads rounded off I could a refitted them but heat wrap one the day plus it looks sooooooo good lol
 
I once heat wrapped a pair of janspeed mild steel tubular manifolds. They rotted to bits within 2/3 years.
