Hi there

If you can’t beat them join them right!?
Have decided to make the right decision and buy a defender. I have had 2 in the past through work and love them.

I would like some advice on choosing the right defender and ensure I have the right information to make my decision

What I want: Defender 90
Budget: upto £12k

I have been recommended looking at the 300tdi models with the idea that the engine could clock upto 300k miles and you can then switch a discovery engine in.

Would be interested to hear your views on models to look into with my budget. Would it be better to get a newer model or stick to my 300tdi search

Cheers

Nick

Are you planning on working on it yourself?
What is your level of mechanical knowledge?
The newer you get, the more electronics and parts there is.
I have 300tdi because it’s simple. Do the work myself. Not a lot to go wrong.
Just something to consider.

12k is a lot for a 300TDI model...

Option 1 : get a newer model
Option 2 : get a 300TDI which is ready to go

Yea plan to work on it myself and build up my mechanical knowledge. I have relatively basic knowledge at the moment.

I like the sound of simplicity

If you live in London as your profile suggests then you will want to read up on the LEZ and ULEZ and the implications for Land Rovers before buying one.
