Can anyone please tell me where I can get some 3mm black checker plate and also cut to size for my roof rack (67.5 inches x 55 inches).

Thanks:D

Thanks for that Griffdowg its a shame the rest of them weren't as helpful, they don't realise people want facts not their sad opinions.

dont ask for checker plate , its real name is 5 bar tread plate.
or is it 4 bar?
and dont buy it from anywhere with a landrover sign outside.
its usually industrial flooring specialists that sell it.

when i want some it cost me the price of a breakfast for the cobalt wall and ceiling contractors on site last time i had some i filled the landie up wasnt even room for me tools or passanger made the fooker catch the bus

chequer plate IS a bad idea for another reason.........that size, on a roof rack? You might take off, or blow over. At best you'll use more fuel. Wunt ya be better off with wire mesh. You can still walk on it & unless you've some strange need other than a chequer plate fetish, it'll make less difference to the already laughable handling of a Landy than a feck off great black sheet of the unmentionable stuff. :D

That's a good point. I took my roof rack off and got another 10mph top end. I'd go for welded mesh if I wanted to turn a roofrack into a balcony.

oh and checker plate you can get from simmals in preston and tec coatings in poulton will powder coat it .... they are mustard at powder coating!;)

your local sheet metal work fabrication shop will usually keep alum tread plate in stock but it does not come in black you would have to get this powder caoated at a paint shop
